Why Outdoors Korea

 

There are many travel agencies and package tours to choose from in Korea. Many visitors return home after a tour of famous tourist attractions and think that they have seen and experienced most of what Korea has to offer but we would say they would have sampled 30% of Korea at best.

 

Sometimes a little known fact is that more than 70% of the country is mountainous and Korea probably has the highest proportion of mountain hikers amongst the general population than any other country in the world.

 

Therefore, it is with a sense of pride, passion and duty that I founded this company.

 

As an experienced travel guide I have met many foreigners seeking English-speaking specialist and dedicated hiking guides in Korea but have often been disappointed. My acquaintances told me I had a gift as a guide and so I decided to take up that challenge. I would not have come this far if it wasn’t for the encouragement. Hiking can be serious business if it is accompanied by challenges and even danger but it can be exciting and rewarding, especially in the heart of Korea. 

 

I know Korea... It is me... I live and breathe what this country has to offer and I want to share it with you. With over 30 years of trekking experience I can share with you this wonderful natural heritage and will personalise that experience for you. Mountains in Korea do not exceed 2,000m with little risk of altitude sickness even for the novice. They are safe, easy to access and even feature in the national anthem or songs sung at school! More than just a hobby, the mountains define Koreans and  their identity. When you return home you will say you have truly seen the real Korea.
